Contact Information I want to give your children a wonderful year in first grade and one of the most important ways to do that is with communication! You are always free to reach out to me with questions or concerns. My email is [email protected], my goal is to respond within 24 hours. You are also welcome to set up a time to speak one-on-one if needed! I will send out an email weekly with an overview of the week and any important information. I will also post this information to my blog on the homepage.
Attendance & Tardy Policy Doors open at 7:45 for breakfast, students will wait in the gym until 7:50 when they will be sent to class. The tardy bell will be at 8:00. First grade is a very important year for students, we are learning so many crucial skills this year. It is important your child is at school whenever possible.
If you know you will be absent for more than one day please reach out and I will prepare make up work for your child to either complete while they are gone or when they return! Classroom Management My classroom will have high expectations in regard to academics and behavior. While I will hold each student accountable for their actions, I am also a believer of second chances. No one is perfect, I will encourage students to understand this. My classroom will be a place where we win some and learn some. As a whole school, we follow the 5 Happy Class Rules: 1. Nice Words 2. Calm Body 3. Follow Directions 4. Nice Hands 5. Finish Work As the year goes on I will adapt and change my strategies to meet the needs of each student.
