Students are expected to have 45 minutes of Imagine Learning time per week. We will work on it during class, but any additional time spent on home will be very beneficial for students.
I use reading A-Z as a supplementary reading program to assist in finding a student's independent and instructional reading level. Their raz-kids account gives them access to books on their independent reading level. They are supposed to first listen to the story, read, and answer the comprehension questions last.
Reading logs will be sent home every Monday and should be returned on Friday. I encourage students to read 20 minutes every night. This could be reading silently, reading aloud, or being read to! I encourage parents to ask one or more comprehension questions throughout reading.
